Discovering & Learning
These simple mobiles came about when studying Alexander Calder. In images 1-3 my son, Nate, created a balance of circles hanging from Chinese chop sticks and balancing them by adding washers. I asked him to write down what he he likes to do. Such as “I like legos.” and “I like watching movies with my friends and family.” He typed and printed it on clear stickies, which he taped to each circle.
I was inspired by Eckhart Tolle and created a balance of art pieces that represented the ego/mind and the soulful being. I added text to them for added meaning. Such as “Be truly present in the fullness of life.” and “Everything is as it is” are printed on the round pieces and on the more complex geometric pieces are text like “Lost in form” and “Trapped in thought.” As the mobiles freely float around I am reminded that there’s constant change and everything is evolving and expanding as well as contracting on all levels.
Build your environment with things that give you pleasure.
